The attorney may represent one of the opposing parties in criminal and civil trials by presenting arguments that support the client in a court of law. Although most lawyers deal with many different areas of law, a significant number concentrate on a branch of law, such as probate, admiralty, or international law. Lawyers can practice privately or in a partnership with another attorney. Lawyers also find employment as law school professors, judges, or administrators in a variety of occupations.
